It’s a big news day today what with all the pregnancies and appendectomies. While my job is fun, there are times when I’m sad to bring some of the news. Like today. Child actor Brad Renfro passed away yesterday. He was 25 years old.
It’s no secret Brad led a troubled existence. He didn’t have anyone in his life he could really call a role model, indeed his parents weren’t around. Like most trouble child stars, Brad had issues with drugs and was arrested for being in possession of cocaine and marijuana. He also admitted to using heroine and methadone. During a famous skid row sweep of drug dealers and buyers in 2005, Brad Renfro was photographed being arrested.
You probably best remember Brad from his starring role in "The Client" where he played a kid who witnessed a mob boss’ suicide. He also appeared in numerous other films including, "Sleepers" and "Telling Lies in America". Brad just wrapped filming on two films. He was found dead in his home by his girlfriend and foul play isn’t suspected.
So much wasted talent.
