Mindy McCready is sentenced to a year in prison

 

Fallen country singer Mindy McCready will be spending a little more time in jail. McCready, who has been locked up since July, will have to remain behind bars for a year.

In 2004 Mindy received a suspended sentence for fraudulently trying to obtain prescription medication. Today she was re-sentenced after violating her parole.

“Your honor,” she sobbed ” I can honestly tell you this: This has been the longest two months of my life … not being able to hold my son … has been excruciatingly painful.”

“I could only say I’m sorry,” she said. “Please give me a chance to make things as right as they can possibly be.”

McCready will receive 75 days deducted from her sentence for time served.
