Did Owen Wilson try to commit suicide by overdosing? There are several reports that he was rushed to the hospital over the weekend.

Santa Monica Police issued the following statement to TMZ: “On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 PM, officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.”
TMZ has learned the 911 call came in at 11:59 AM to the L.A. Fire Department.
Citing medical privacy laws, they would not release any additional information, nor would they comment on why he was transported.

Santa Monica police issued a statement saying officers responded to a “medical assistance call” at a house on Wilson’s street shortly after noon Sunday. A source confirmed the house was Wilson’s.
“The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated,” the police statement said.
According to media reports, it was Wilson who was transported.
Later in the evening, Wilson’s brothers Andrew and Luke, as well as his parents, were seen at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.
Wilson’s rep didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
Now both these reports just tell of Wilson being rushed to the hospital. The Sydney Morning News, Star, National Enquirer and Perez Hilton reporting as an overdose and claims Owen Wilson was found by his brother Andrew with his wrists slashed and an empty bottle of pills next to him.
Here’s the update from Perez:
“Owen Wilson has now been transferred from St. John’s to another Los Angeles area hospital. His brothers Andrew and Luke are with him.
“Andrew found him after the suicide attempt and called an ambulance. Both of Owen’s wrists were slashed superficially and Owen had taken an overdose of pills.
“Owen was found with a nearly empty bottle of pills next to him. He was at his house in Santa Monica.”
Whoa. How do you go from starring in successful movies and dating Kate Hudson to slicing your wrists and downing a bottle of pills? Still waiting on words from Owen Wilson’s peeps.

You should read this. It’s an interview Owen did with Blender where he talks about only recently thinking drugs were OK.
